Hello!! We (Ellie, Izzy and Eleanor) will be running the Bath Half Marathon on the 17 March and have decided to fundraise for Jacari, a brilliant charity based in Bristol that Ellie has volunteered with through the year.

Jacari is a small grassroots charity that provides free English language support to refugee, asylum-seeking and migrant children based in Bristol and Oxford. Volunteers, usually students, are matched with a child from the local area and spend about an hour a week helping them with their language skills and general confidence.

As a tutor I (Ellie) have seen this first hand. Every Wednesday afternoon, I tutor someone in year 4 at their school in Montpelier. It has been a joy to see her English language ability and confidence grow considerably throughout the year.

By supporting Jacari, you will enable even more children to settle into the UK and reach their full potential.

Fundraising can provide:

- £5 book or game for Jacari Resource Library

- £12: The cost of one tutor’s DBS check

- £30 Pays for a family to attend an extracurricular trip with Jacari

- £40: The cost of devliering a teaching induction to new volunteers

- £50: Pays for 100 volunteer handbooks to be printed

- £175: Covers all the costs of one term of free tuition for a children
