The Histiocytosis Association is dedicated to addressing the unique needs of patients and families dealing with the effects of histiocytic disorders while leading the search for a cure.

Story

At 16 years old, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, secondary HLH.

I was fortunate to have a good doctor and an early diagnosis, which allowed me to receive intensive treatment quickly - This was my lifeline.

Histiocytic disorders are a group of diseases that occur when there is an over-production of white blood cells known as histiocytes that can lead to organ damage and tumour formation.

When I was in recovery, my father took part in the Blenheim Triathlon and raised money for Histio UK. Over a decade later we face the challenge together raising money for the Histiocytosis Association - a charity for which I am now a Histio Ambassador.

The Histiocytosis Association is a charity dedicated to raising awareness about histiocytic disorders, providing educational and emotional support, and funding research leading to better treatments and a cure.

** Event runs over two days - The triathlon I will be doing is on 2nd June **
