This Autumn I am taking on two challenges - both firsts for me - an ultra marathon of 50km along the Northumberland coast line (Pilgrims Ultra) on 28th September and HYROX solo competition in Birmingham 4 weeks later.

With only half marathon distance under my belt in the last 5 years, nervous is an understatement! I’ve got 6 weeks to ramp up the miles and pull this out the bag! Wish me and my knees luck…

I am doing these challenges to fundraise for the incredible MacMillan team, one of the charities that supported my amazingly strong and just bloody incredible friend through her recent diagnosis and battle with an aggressive form of lymphoma. She has been through gruelling treatment that most of us can’t even begin to imagine for over a year before getting the all clear. I could not be more in awe of her and all the incredible NHS staff, volunteers and charities like MacMillan that supported her through it all. She’s been to hell and back - this one’s for you Moon xxxx
