Cancer affects far too many of us, both directly and indirectly. To support the truly heroic work of Beatson Cancer Charity, my great friend Stef and I are taking on the Rat Race 100 Ultra this July. The challenge involves covering 100 miles on foot from Edinburgh Castle to Glamis Castle, carrying essential kit, in one go.

There’s no doubt this is going to hurt, but our discomfort is insignificant compared to the daily physical and mental battles faced by those living with cancer. That's what will keep us moving when things get tough.

We have been training hard to give ourselves the best possible chance of crossing the finish line within the time limit, and we hope our efforts can help raise vital funds for this incredible charity. Any support, no matter how small, would be hugely appreciated and will help Beatson Cancer Charity continue making a real difference to the lives of patients and their families.
