Story
Palestinian-led medical aid
In two years, the Israeli military has systematically dismantled Gaza’s healthcare system, leaving two million Palestinians without proper access to treatment and medication. The continued genocide places an even greater strain on the remaining partially functional hospitals.
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAPs) vision is a future where all Palestinians can access an effective, sustainable and locally-led system of healthcare, and they continue to work towards this despite Israel’s military occupation and genocide. Their team in Gaza is working to support the restoration of hospitals and healthcare facilities, support local partners to provide emergency medical care and provide desperately needed equipment, medicines and services.
My ultracycling challenge
This year I am attempting the UK Triple Crown – 3 off-road ultra races across the UK. The Dales Divide in April (600km, 8,131), The Highland Trail in May (900km, 16,000m elevation), and finally the North Wales 400 in August (410km, 10,000m elevation).
Cycling is a beautiful escape from the world but as it takes over more of my time and life I continue to look for ways to bring justice and storytelling into it wherever possible. This attempt is an exciting adventure for me but will also be a significant mental and physical challenge. I see it as an immense privilege to have the freedom, safety and resources to participate in these activities so would like to use this platform to ensure the genocide in Gaza and Palestinian fight isn’t forgotten.

Ultra Cyclists for Palestine
Ultra Cyclists for Palestine are a small collective of ultracyclists, bound by endurance, passion, and a belief that every human has the right to medical care. We’ve joined forces to stand in solidarity with Palestinians, share their stories and fundraise essential resources for local support.
On our rides we take safety and health for granted. In Gaza, it is a daily fight for survival. We are asking for your support so that healthcare can be provided to those who need it most.

The consequences of the genocide are devastating:
– 90% of the Palestinian population in Gaza have been displaced.
– 94% of hospitals in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed, leaving medical care on the brink of collapse.
– 1.9 million people—90% of the population—have been displaced, and 92% of housing units have been damaged or destroyed.
– 1.2 million people now face emergency or catastrophic levels of food insecurity.

Non-financial ways to show support:
• Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) – A free way to contribute to the Palestinian fight is to boycott companies that use your money to fund arms and genocide. Change your bank, avoid all Coca-Cola products or read up on what else to avoid. Find guidance here.
• Write to your MP and sign petitions – Sign up to the Palestine Solidarity UK mailing list and stay on top of their important actions calling on MPs and other leaders to take political actions.
• Join the collective! Get in touch if this resonates with you and you’d like to be part of this lovely community.
