Story
In 2025 we lost my beautiful mum, Genevieve Campbell. We lost her to Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease - an incurable and quick acting fatal neurodegenerative disease. My mum was the kindest, most generous and loving soul I’ve ever encountered and deserved nothing but a long and beautiful life. I feel grateful to have had her as my mum but miss her more than life itself.
To raise awareness of CJD, increase support for those suffering and their families, and keep my mums memory alive, I will be running as many races as I can. Running has become a kind of therapy for me by providing me with something to work towards and just keep going in the worst time of my life. So far I’ve run the London 10K (July 2025) and my cousins and I ran the Moville (Donegal, Ireland) half marathon on the 14th of August 2025.
Next up is a big one - I will be running the London Marathon 2026! It will be one of the hardest things I’ve ever done by far so please do send support in any way you can!
If you would like to honour mum and support my efforts via donation (which will be greatly appreciated), please do so here to be directed to the CJD Support Network.
