Story

Hi everyone!

I am excited (and also terrified) to share that I will be running the 2025 London Marathon in support of the MS society, a charity which supports those living with Multiple Sclerosis.

More than 150,000 people in the UK are living with Multiple Sclerosis; one of those 150,000 is my beautiful mum. My mum was diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS in 2019 and ever since her diagnosis, has handled every day with such strength and courage. She is the bravest person I know. Aswell as my mum, I can’t not mention my amazing Uncle Tony who also had MS, but we sadly lost in 2021. He was one of the strongest men I have ever known, always making us laugh right until the end and so I will also be running in his memory.

MS is s a lifelong condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation and balance. The MS society has an ultimate goal of finding treatments for everyone suffering with MS, but until then, they work to ensure that no one has to face MS alone. The MS society are at the forefront of providing help and support to those who need it and since my mum’s diagnosis I have often looked to the MS society, always finding the help I require; whether that be through reading an article or being pointed in the direction of a support group. The MS society is an all-round incredible charity that I am proud to be running for and raising awareness of.

For those of you who know me, will know that running is not an area where I am naturally gifted, in fact, I find it pretty difficult. Running the London Marathon will therefore be the biggest challenge I have ever faced, but if my mum can face the challenges that day-to-day life throws at her with such strength and courage, then I know I can do this for her.

Thank you so much for your support!
