TCS London Marathon 2024

London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
After running my first half marathon in 2022 I decided to set myself the challenge of completing the London marathon on Sunday 21st April 2024 in support of the Blue Cross Animal Charity.
The Blue Cross offer a range of support to pets and owners including free/discounted medical treatment for sick pets, rehoming services and bereavement support for owners. Last year alone the blue cross helped 24,196 sick pets, helped rehome 3,997 pets and supported 17,363 owners through pet bereavement support services.
As many of you will know I am A Registered Veterinary Nurse and I work for the Blue Cross Veterinary Hospital in Victoria. As part of my role, every day I get to see first hand the patients that myself and my team get to help; patients that may not have been able to access this help if The Blue Cross wasn’t there to provide it. I’m very lucky to be surrounded with such a great team of like-minded individuals who are passionate, experienced and committed to The Blue Cross ethos. We are also instrumental in ensuring that animals who for whatever reason don’t have a home for us to return them to have a second chance through our rehoming centres.
The Blue Cross is often an animal charity that I find people have not heard of. But with hospitals in Victoria, Merton, Hammersmith and Grimbsy, and covering a large catchment area, they provide support to a lot of animals. I am running to raise awareness of this charity and to help them in their mission to continue treating sick animals. Any donations you can make are greatly appreciated and will help towards my target of £2000!
£5 could pay for a kitten to be microchipped
£15 could help pay for fresh bedding for a rabbit at one of the centres
£30 could fund an unwanted horses basic hoof care
£100 could pay for emergency treatment for a sick pet
£300 could help 10 cats to receive their essential vaccinations from their vets
Thank-you
