As some of you may know, on the 16th of March my wonderful friend Jodie and I will be running the Falmouth half marathon and thought it may be a good opportunity to raise some money.

I have chosen to raise for Macmillan Cancer support in memory of both of my grandmothers, Pamela Lang and Bridget Joy Vanstone.

I sadly never got to meet either of them but I have asked my family to tell me about what I can only imagine were two really rather fantastic women.

Pamela was very stylish, caring, loyal and fun. She was creative and made many dubious matching dresses for her two daughters (fashionable at all times) and was often found tying mackerel lines with a hook in her finger! She gave them a wonderful childhood, gave boundaries (often pushed by Sarah) but allowed them to be themselves.

Bridget Joy was kind, patient, caring and had the best sense of humour. Apparently she made a fantastic rock bun! She has the ability to always laugh at anything, especially when her husband would bring home a boot full of random items including many a carpet tile! And would make sure to always make a quick cup of tea whenever it was time to leave! She loved my dad and Caroline hugely and made sure that looking after them was always the main priority!

Loosing these two women young left an unimaginable hole in everyone's lives. They would have been the best grandmothers and that is why I want to take this opportunity to remember them.
