UPDATE JUNE 2026

We have had a very successful year so far with 2 fantastic quizzes at Chapel Golf Club and a coffee morning and plant sale in Combs collectively raising over £5000. We are so thankful for the wonderful and generous support of those around us.

Our main event for 2026 will be the Peak District Ultra Challenge on 4th and 5th July where we have a team of 22 aiming to complete either the full 100K or the more manageable 25K.... its going to be a great weekend.

MEG'S STORY

On 3rd October 2025 our extraordinary daughter lost her courageous fight against bowel cancer, less than 4 months after diagnosis. She was just 31 years old, with so many plans for her life ahead of her.

We loved Meg unconditionally and knew she was loved, but it is only now that we fully understand the breadth and depth of that love. She touched so many lives, including those who may only have known her briefly. In their words and ours, Meg was beautiful, warm, loving, kind, gentle and caring ....truly one of a kind. She had a determination to make the most of every moment and will always remain a bright light in our lives. She taught us all so much about what it is to be kind and to give everyone a chance. To us Meg will always be inspirational. It is for this reason that we have set up this tribute page. Whenever Meg achieved something in her life, she would say to us 'I did it!' Well this time, we will be doing it for you, Meg!

Many people have asked if there is a charity that they could donate to in Meg's honour. It was without hesitation that we chose Blythe House. They did so much for Meg throughout her illness and it was only with the amazing support of their Roaming Car Service that we were able to look after Meg at home to the end. Their ongoing care and support for the family since Meg's death has been wonderful.

This will be a rolling tribute page which allows people to give now in her memory and also in the future, as we know Meg has inspired so many people to run, walk, bake and arrange events. We will post regular updates with what everyone has been up to.

Blythe House Hospice provides care and support for patients and families affected by a life-limiting illness living across North Derbyshire. The hospice’s 24/7 Hospice at Home and overnight Roaming Car services allow patients to access high quality end of life care at home whilst the hospice itself provides specialist outpatient clinics; physio, occupational and complementary therapies; nursing services; family and carer support and 1:1 counselling sessions for adults, children & young people affected by life-limiting illness.
