Megan's fundraiser for Police Care UK

Megan Haig is raising money for Police Care UK

Bognor Regis 10 km Road Race · 17 May 2026

We are a national charity dedicated to those who suffer harm as a result of their policing role. Through our confidential programme of practical, emotional, and financial support, we are there for serving and former personnel carrying the physical and psychological impact of public service.

Story

Police Care UK has helped our family tremendously, despite never hearing of them before 2025.

Research shows that 1 in 5 Police Officers will experice PTSD or Complex PTSD, so it's highly likely that my some of my colleagues or even myself will need some help throughout my career.

They are entirely funded by donations and fundraising and help those harmed by their policing role, ie PTSD.

Therefore, I want to give back and help them to continue their vital work.

So..... I've signed up for the Bognor Regis 10 km Road Race on 17th May 2026.

Running is something that doesn't come naturally and never has. This time last year, I would have struggled to run for 1 minute. And in just 8 weeks I'm planning to run for at least 60! I have been training, but I have never attempted 10 Km, so it is going to be tough.

I know times are hard, but I really cannot thank them enough, if this is something you're able to support,

ALSO if you are able to make a donation, please list a song you want me to listen too during it. Can be anything so feel free to have a laugh!

"Police Care UK makes sure both serving and former police colleagues who suffer harm, and their families, have someone to when things get tough.

We provide practical, emotional, and financial support that is confidential, independent and accessible.

Our mission is to reduce the impact of harm on police and their families. We do this by ensuring everyone is aware of the harm police experience, enable people to recover and rebuild their lives, and engage with the police service to do all they can to reduce or prevent harm."
