6 Lakes Marathon, Uppsala · 16 August 2025

Doctors and scientists at the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neuron Disease Research undertake vital research into motor neuron disease (MND); a condition that causes muscle weakness and paralysis, difficulty speaking, swallowing and breathing.

Story

On the 16th of August my dad and I are running a marathon to raise money for The Euan MacDonald Centre which does amazing research into motor neurone disease (MND). Euan was my dad's late best friend who sadly passed last summer, but whilst he was alive he started this great charity which carries out vital research into MND.

The Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neuron Disease Research is based at the University of Edinburgh and is a not-for-profit, charitable network of over 200 researchers across Scotland. They use research to improve the lives of people living with MND and related conditions.

This charity means a lot to us and any support would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you.
