Mel's Pedal to the Peaks Woman's Trust

Mel Ball is raising money for Woman's Trust

Pedal to the Peaks · 1 July 2026

Woman's Trust supports women to overcome the trauma of domestic abuse through specialist trauma-informed counselling, support groups and workshops. Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women and is responsible for half of women's mental health problems, including suicide. Help us to change women's lives.

Story

A couple of years ago, I completed a 24-hour spin bike challenge for Woman's Trust. This year, I decided I needed to go bigger, harder, and slightly more ambitious.

On 1st July, I'll be taking on the Pedal to the Peaks challenge.

Starting at Ben Nevis, I'll hike to the summit before cycling south to Scafell Pike, then on to Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), climbing all three peaks along the way.

The challenge includes:

• Over 800km of cycling

• Approximately 39km of hiking

• Around 3,000m (9,800ft) of ascent

This will be a huge challenge for me. To be clear: I am not a cyclist.

In fact, it's taken me months to announce this because I'm genuinely not sure whether I can complete it. But that's exactly why I'm doing it.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help Woman's Trust continue supporting women whose lives have been affected by domestic abuse.

Thank you for your support.
