Story
This opportunity would not be possible without the incredibly generous Sponsor from the DOUGLAS ROTARY CLUB: So I would like to take this opportunity to thank them!
In just four weeks, I’ll be heading to the Arctic Circle on what will be one of the biggest challenges of my life.
Snow. Survival training. Icy plunges. A long trek across frozen landscapes, camping each night in extreme conditions.
I am a very proud member of Team Expedition Limitless 2026, and I feel deeply honoured to be part of something that has such powerful purpose behind it.
For over 20 years, as a Children’s Psychotherapist, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside children and families as they navigated life’s challenges. I’ve supported resilience, courage and hope in others. Now, it’s my turn to step into discomfort — to stretch myself beyond my comfort zone and embrace a different kind of challenge.
This expedition isn’t just an adventure.
From 17th March to 1st April 2026, twelve novice explorers will face the harsh and unforgiving Arctic environment with nothing but grit, determination and teamwork to carry us through. And together, we’re aiming to raise an incredible £200,000 to provide life-changing support for children and families.
We are raising funds for two extraordinary Manx charities:
💛 Rebecca House – offering essential palliative care and respite for children with life-limiting conditions.
💛 The Children’s Centre – providing vital services and support for children and families in our community.
Both of these organisations make a profound difference to families when they need it most.
All funds raised via my Just Giving page will be split with these two fantastic charities.
This Arctic expedition will test my resilience in ways I can’t yet imagine — but it feels small in comparison to the strength shown every day by the children and families these charities support.
If you feel able to, I would be so grateful for your support. Every donation, no matter the size, helps move us closer to that £200,000 goal and directly impacts families here on the Isle of Man.
Thank you for cheering me on, encouraging me, and walking beside me in this journey. It truly means more than you know.
With love,
Mel ❄️💛
