Story
So 2026 is the year I’ve turned 55 and Charlie (my son) celebrated turning 30 so what better way for two stubborn, very impatient individuals to ‘celebrate’ than to run a half marathon!!
For added context this is not Charlie’s first rodeo whereas it is most definitely mine!!! I’m more a walker than a runner but I’m kinda hoping he’ll wait at the finish line for me so we can go home together!!
We’ll be running (walking) to raise much needed funds for the amazing charity that is The Freedom Project. A charity that helps and supports anyone impacted by Domestic Abuse including children so anything you can give to add to the pot would be greatly appreciated.
The Freedom Project is the only organisation offering free, long-term, community-based support in West Cumbria as part of its mission to help stop domestic abuse.
They work with perpetrators, families and children, and have supported over 10,000 individuals during our 29 years. Referrals last year increased by 57%.
Their key services include a helpline, group support for adults and children victims of abusive relationships, one-to-one counselling & training.
