Why I’m Running for Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospital
Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospitals are a service we all dip in and out of when life throws a medical drama our way. It’s just there — part of the local community, and something I, like many others, probably took for granted.
I had my babies there, been in for the odd injury, and had family members treated there over the years.
But last year, **Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospital quite literally saved my life.**
First, I broke my neck in a horse-riding accident. Just as I was recovering, I was suddenly admitted to ICU with severe sepsis caused by a stuck kidney stone. A couple of operations later, I’m incredibly lucky to say I’m fully recovered.
Through it all, the emergency care, treatment, aftercare, kindness and support were incredible. The NHS staff looked after me through some pretty scary moments — and quite literally put me back together.
So now I want to give something back.
I’m taking on the **Cheltenham Half Marathon** to raise money for Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospital as a small way of saying thank you.
If you can spare £1 or £2, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation will help keep me motivated through the training and those miles around Cheltenham!
Your support helps local hospitals provide better care for patients and supports the incredible NHS staff who deliver it — from specialist equipment and facilities to staff support and specialist care.
Thank you for reading, supporting me and helping me give something back to the people who were there when I needed them most. ❤️
**Every donation really does make a difference.**
