Story
Hello
I’m taking on a new challenge & hoping my little legs will carry me through 🤞with my two Southend Strollercise instructors and great friends , Karen & Tracy .
After becoming the new Fundraising manager for Southend Vox Community Choir earlier this year , I thought this would be a great way in my first year , to kick off my commitment to this role & raise money for our chosen charity this year , The ME association.
We will be taking on an 8 hour Strollathon challenge ! Dancing / Strolling to Rock n Roll sounds from the 50’s & 60’s . This will equate to anywhere between 20-30 miles of dance in that time frame ! 💃
Date : Saturday 19th September 2026
Time : 9.30am - 5.30pm
Location : St Mary’s C of E primary school , East Street , Southend - on - Sea , SS2 6LQ .
Refreshments will be available on the day for a small charge . All welcome to pop down & cheer us on & have a cuppa , It will be great to have some friendly faces come & support us 😊 .
🎟️ There will be a raffle on the day as well for £1 a strip , numbers drawn at end of the Strollerthon & winners notified 🥳
💃🕺 If you’d like to join in with us for as little or as long as you fancy it will be £2 pp . All welcome to join in : ladies , men , regular strollers , friends & family ,choir friends , newbies to give Strollercise a go , you’ll receive a friendly welcome from us 😁 . Kids under 16 dance for free .
Every single penny raised from the fundraiser , refreshments , joining in fee & raffle will be going to Southend Vox Choirs charity of the year , The ME Association 🙏
I’m a member of both Southend Strollercise & Southend Vox Community Choir and bringing these 2 fabulous local communities together to raise money for this worthy cause .
Thankyou for reading & any donations of support for our challenge will be so greatly received by us all 💜
Lastly a big Thankyou to everyone that has helped me put this event together , but especially to Karen & Tracy for being my partners in crime for the day 🥰
Let’s do this 💪💃 🎶
Lots of Love , Mel xx
Please help us to support people with ME and their families.
ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy), or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, blights the lives of over 400,000 people in the UK today. The smallest exertion can floor them; their joints and muscles ache unbearably; restful sleep eludes them; and ‘brain fog’ clouds their thinking. It changes lives drastically – disrupting study; making work impossible; and straining family relations to breaking point. Many sufferers cannot leave their homes. There is no known cure.
Please help us to help them.
