Story
Having been inspired by all the runners at the London Marathon last month, I have decided to swim a marathon as my knees would never survive running that length! I am planning on doing this by the end of June. This is 1688 lengths of a 25m pool! As some of you know, I am one of the Specialist Advisors working for Nerve Tumours UK. I have been doing my role for eight years now and I have lost track of how families have been supported by this fantastic charity. We are only a small charity, so every penny helps. If you can find a few spare pennies (or even better a couple of pounds) to add to my page I would be really grateful.
I'm supporting Nerve Tumours UK because their mission means a great deal to me. They provide crucial support to people living with the Neurofibromatoses - the conditons that cause nerve tumours.
They are dominant genetic conditions, which means that they can be passed on in families from one generation to the next through genetic inheritance. Similarly, about half of nerve tumours cases recorded have no previous family history of the condition. In other words, it can occur totally βout of the blueβ.
Please help me bolster their support.
