Mum
Mum was diagnosed with a chronic subdural haematoma (CSH) during lockdown. After we lost Dad 8 years ago Mum had continued to live in our wonderful childhood home; however sadly a collective decision was made that Mum needed round the clock care as we didn't know how the CSH was going to manifest. It was with grace and dignity that Mum moved into Pelsall Hall in August 2021. Pelsall Hall is a superb home and it really is like one big family. Mum enjoyed her time there and participated in many activities and made lots of friends who came and went.
On 18th August 2023 Mum collapsed and was unresponsive. Mum periodically came to and I will never forget her taking mine and my sisters hands, kissing them and telling us she loved us. We sat by Mum's bedside 24/7 for two weeks. In those last two weeks as the staff shifts changed some would come into Mum's room, kiss her forehead, say God bless and leave the room with tears in their eyes. The love and care that Mum received was faultless. Mum quietly passed away on 31st August with us holding her hands.
Andy and I are running the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd March in memory of Mum and to raise funds for Pelsall Hall to say an enormous thank you for their, care, support, patience and love.
If you are able to make a small donation we would be so very grateful xx
