Story

I've always loved long hair. I don't know why. Maybe it's a remnant of the little girl growing up with stories of princesses or something....

I've always had long hair. Forever. When I was a child I thought I would cut it and have really short hair "when I grew up"--like when I was 20! That age came and went, plus a couple more decades. Perhaps I never really felt "grown up" enough. Or perhaps I just really loved long hair.

Well, for a couple of reasons I feel like the time has come to cut it. And I want it to mean something. I want someone else to benefit from my hair.

When I looked into donating hair I found the Little Princess Trust and I read the story of little 5-year-old Hannah, who's fight against cancer was made more bearable by simply having hair and the confidence to socialise. I look at Hannah's sweet face in the picture and am reminded of my own daughter and how I would do anything for her, and I want to help other children suffering from this terrible disease.

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.

The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.

It costs £550 to make one wig for a child. But I'd like to raise more than that so that extras can go into childhood cancer research.

So please give a small amount for little kids just desperately wanting to feel normal again.

Thank you x
