Hello there, I see you’ve stumbled on this page. Nice to meet you, Selamat Datang! (Welcome in Malay)
I’m Melinda, a junior doctor all the way from the small-ish Asian country of Malaysia. Very very far, but can lah. I’m excited to participate in this event to help fundraise for charity. As someone who has witnessed parents donating every now and then, and watching clips of Britain's Got Talent with my grandmother, this is a nice mashup of my life growing up. The song I’ll be performing will hopefully showcase the various facets of cultures I grew up in.
I’m fundraising not just for the event, but to compete and win to donate 1000 pounds for the Archie foundation. Passing by the Children's ward whenever I’m in the hospital, I have massive respect to those working in the foundation and ward helping kids out in whatever way they can. The Archie Foundation was one of the first charities I donated to as soon as I got my salary, and I have aspirations to be a paediatrician when I specialise.
I hope this explains my motivations. And if you end up donating, even 5 pounds, 谢谢 (Thank you) so much!!
More about the event I’m fundraising for:
The Celebrating Amy team are back this year with another incredible event, honouring the life of Amy Tuach who sadly died in 2022. Blue Light’s Got Talent will take place in the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness, on Saturday 21st September 2024, with organisers describing it as the biggest fun-filled, variety talent show the Highlands will ever have seen.
But there is a twist – all participants are members of the emergency services or care sector!
Event organisers are about to launch their search for talented staff of the NHS, police service, fire service, prison service, coastguard service, armed forces or care system, who are willing to come forward and display their talents to help put on the biggest show of the year, performances will be scored from audience votes and judges scoring and the winning act will walk away with £1000 to donate to their chosen charity.
Blue Light’s Got Talent will raise funds for Highland Hospice and Cash for Kids.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
