On Saturday, 19th of April my Dad passed. Having been diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer in January 2023, he was given 18 months - 2 years. He decided against any treatment and, in the main, was comfortable until about 4 weeks ago.

He was taken into palliative care in Y Bwythyn, Royal Glamorgan Hospital on Thursday, 17th where he was looked after with the utmost care, dignity and respect, for which myself and my family will be eternally grateful.

I was due to fly to Dubrovnik for a week which would include the Dubrovnik Half Marathon on the 27th of April. After much deliberation and the support of my Step Mother, Jacqui, I will still go. Whilst I have taken part in quite a few half marathons, this one will be in memory of my Dad as he was a keen runner in his day and I want to raise as much money for Y Bwythyn as possible This money will pay for equipment not provided by the NHS and additional support for patients.
