Story
As some of you may know, my husband and I have recently been through a fertility journey. Our journey eventually resulted in us receiving IVF treatment and after a couple of months break to recover from the effects I experienced during my treatment, we were so blessed to have a successful frozen embryo transfer in September 2023. We now have the most amazing, beautiful little boy. We will always be forever thankful and grateful to the Doctors, Embryologists and Nurses who made our family possible.
From my experience, fertility journeys are all consuming, lonely, traumatic and at times feel like they are never ending. Depending on where you live there is also a post code lottery on how many, if any, funded fertility treatments you will receive on the NHS. And if you aren't able to get funded treatment it can be extremely expensive to sustain.
The Fertility Foundation is the national fertility charity providing support and IVF funding to low-income couples and individuals in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
I'm going to run the Eyam Half Marathon on 18th May to raise money for this charity. How amazing would it be if from your donation it went on to help someone be able to complete their family and help create their perfect little baby!
Having only had my baby in May 2024 via a C-section, when I'm due to run the half marathon I will still be less than 1 year post partum, so I am asking a lot of my body, but I'm absolutely willing to run with as much energy as I can, to raise as much as I can to help. I'd be so grateful if you can donate whatever you can to support me.
