Story
I’m running the London Marathon for St Barnabas — in memory of my Grandad. ❤️🏃♂️
This year, I’ve decided to take on one of the biggest physical and emotional challenges of my life: running the London Marathon in 2026. And I’m not just doing it for the personal accomplishment — I’m doing it for something so much bigger than myself.
I’m running for St Barnabas Hospice, one of three incredible Sussex-based hospices (alongside Chestnut Tree House and Martlets) that provide vital, compassionate end-of-life care. I’m running in honour of my Grandad, who spent his final days in their care — and I’ll never forget the kindness, dignity, and peace they gave him, and us, during such a vulnerable time.
St Barnabas didn’t just care for him as a patient — they supported our entire family. They treated us with warmth and empathy, creating an environment where Grandad felt safe, respected, and truly seen. That kind of care is rare. And it matters.
This marathon is my way of saying thank you. My way of carrying his memory forward. Of giving something back to the people who gave us so much — and making sure other families get to experience that same level of comfort and support when they need it most.
Every mile I run will be for him.
Every step will be fuelled by love, memory, and the belief that dignity at the end of life should never be a luxury.
So if you can, please support me.
Whether it’s a donation — big or small — or a simple share, it all helps. Every bit raised will help St Barnabas continue their incredible work: providing free, high-quality palliative care to people across our community, at a time when it’s needed most.
Let’s do this —
For Grandad. For St Barnabas. For every family who needs a hand to hold.
Thank you, truly 🫶🏻
