Story
Blesma, The Limbless Veterans, stands as a beacon of hope for those who have bravely served our nation and faced life-altering challenges. Our mission is to support serving and ex-Service men and women who have experienced limb loss or the loss of use of a limb, an eye, or sight. We are committed to being there for these remarkable individuals in their communities across the UK and beyond.
Since 1932, we have been the only national Service charity dedicated to limbless veterans for their entire lives. Our Members range from young amputee veterans to those who fought valiantly in WWII, some having lived with limb loss for over fifty years. While modern medicine can address physical injuries, the emotional trauma and lifelong health issues require ongoing support. Blesma provides a nurturing network where Members not only receive assistance from our professional Welfare Team but also connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering a vital fellowship that helps them navigate everyday challenges.
As we prepare for the Memorial March on July 3rd, 2025, we invite you to join us in this inspiring journey. Our goal is to raise £5,000 to continue providing essential services and support for our Members. Your contribution will make a significant difference in their lives, ensuring they never feel alone in their struggles. Together, let’s honour their sacrifices and empower them to thrive once again.
The team will be Marching, Swimming and Scrambling from UTAH beach through OMAHA, GOLD, JUNO to SWORD remaining in the landing zones. we will start on 3rd June and finish on 6th June to mark the 81st Anniversary of the WWII D-Day Landings.
