Men & Mountains is a free, volunteer-led group of men who meet once a month to walk in the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog). Our focus is connection through conversation, positive wellbeing, and a space to share openly. There are hundreds of us, and there’s no cost or commitment to join.

We love these hills, and we also know how quickly a great day out can turn serious when the weather shifts, someone slips, or a route goes wrong.

That’s why we’re pleased to be raising money for Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team: the volunteers who respond 24/7, 365 days a year when the Police or Ambulance Service request assistance after a 999 call.

They cover a huge area across Mid, South & West Wales and, in a typical year, attend dozens of call-outs, from searching for missing walkers and vulnerable people to rescues in remote, rough terrain, plus swift-water and flood response when needed.

As a charity, the team relies heavily on donations to keep specialist equipment maintained, vehicles operational, and training ongoing, so they’re ready when the call comes, whatever the time and whatever the weather.
