Story
Welcome to my fundraising page.
My name is Sam, I am the Coordinator for our Mepal and Sutton CFR team and I volunteer for my community. I also volunteer on our Cambridge SCFR Car Scheme, which operates in and around the Cambridge area.
I give up my own time, as do my team, and we do so unpaid, We respond to emergencies in our local community.
We rely on donations to fund certain aspects, such as uniform, some elements of additional training, and equipment, the more we raise, the more CFR kits and the more training we can offer for use within our community.
Our Community First Responders (CFRs) are volunteers who are trained by EEAST to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they live or work. Their aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes, and support patients before the ambulance crew arrives.
Their role is to help stabilize the patient and provide the appropriate care until the more highly skilled ambulance crew arrives on scene to take over the treatment.
CFRs are volunteers who are trained by the ambulance service, but rely on charity donations and fundraising to continue to be able to support their local community.
Anything you may be able to donate, will stay allocated to local teams. So from myself, and other local CFR Responders.
Thank you.
