Story
The reason:
This is Lucas. He was a caring, vibrant person who always brought a smile to everyone he met. Originally from Argentina, he joined me in Scotland to follow my dream.
A few months after arriving in Scotland, Lucas was diagnosed with stage-4 bowel cancer. He passed away less than a year later, but during that time, we were surrounded by incredible support from family, friends, and colleagues in both Argentina and Scotland.
The Beatson Cancer Charity also played a crucial role. Their dedicated staff and volunteers provided comfort to Lucas during his chemotherapy and helped us organize a beautiful wedding at the hospital.
The work this charity does for cancer patients in Glasgow and the surrounding areas is immeasurable. I am asking for your help to give back a little of what they gave us.
Thank you for your support <3
Summary of the event:
The last ten years have seen over 14,000 participants walk over 86,800 miles - making it Glasgow's brightest sponsored walk as we turn Glasgow's west end Beatson yellow. This fun-filled 10k walk is fully accessible and perfect for all ages, making it a great day out, full of family entertainment, and a great way to raise much needed funds to support patients and families living with cancer.
At Beatson Cancer Charity we believe that no-one should face cancer on their own. This has always been our aim and we will work hard to continue to support even more people and families in the years to come.
Thank you for joining us for what will be a spectacular day, raising funds to support our patients and families across the west of Scotland, who are living with cancer.
We can't wait to go Off The Beatson Track with you all!
