Story
About a year ago, a small group of us started swimming together every Saturday morning. We'd wake up at 6am, drive to Lake 32, swim, then warm up with coffee and a good chat. When summer ended, we didn’t want to stop, so we found a more local lake and kept going.
As autumn rolled in, we kept meeting. Then winter came. We'd gather in the dark, take deep breaths, step into the freezing water, and come out buzzing, joking and feeling proud. It’s given us so much: connection, resilience, joy, and a deep sense of wellbeing.
This summer, we’re marking the end of our swim season with a 24-hour relay swim. We're doing this to challenge ourselves, but also to share something bigger.
We want to raise awareness about how powerful it can be to come together in nature, push ourselves out of our comfort zones, and support each other. And most importantly we’re fundraising to help children with disabilities learn to swim and experience these same benefits.
If you'd like to support us, whether with a donation, a kind word, or both, we will be very grateful! Every £15 funds a life-changing lesson. Please donate what you can and help me make a difference!
Thank you so much.
