Having vowed that one half marathon was definitely enough, I’ve somehow found myself lacing up my trainers once again and pounding the pavements of Surbiton to train for the London Landmarks Half Marathon. But I’m doing it for a very good cause. I’m running to raise money for The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), where I’ve been proud to work for the past 18 months.

The ICR is a world-leading cancer research organisation, and home to 800 scientists working together to discover new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. It has an extraordinary track record – from pioneering discoveries in cancer genetics, to developing life-saving cancer drugs, and transforming radiotherapy so it’s more precise, effective and kinder for patients.

Cancer affects so many of us. I lost my much-loved dad to cancer in 2023, and this run is one small way of honouring him while supporting the research that could help others in the future.
