Story
This year, Team MES will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, covering 24 miles in under 12 hours to raise money for the Kirkwood Hospice.
We are undertaking this challenge in loving memory of our colleague Max’s mum, who sadly passed away last year following her battle with cancer. Throughout her journey, The Kirkwood provided invaluable care, support and compassion, not only to her but also to those closest to her when they needed it most.
We know that this remains a deeply personal loss for Max and his family. By taking this challenge on, we hope to honour her memory while supporting a charity that makes such a profound difference to families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.
The Kirkwood helps people living with life-limiting illnesses receive the care, dignity and support they deserve, while also providing comfort and guidance to loved ones throughout their journey.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks will be a significant challenge for many of us. Covering 24 miles across Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in a single day will test us physically and mentally. But being Yorkshire born and bred, Max wouldn’t have accepted a fitness challenge anywhere else, so we will take it in our stride!
Joking aside, the challenge ahead is nothing compared to what families supported by The Kirkwood face every day. If our efforts can help raise funds for this incredible charity and support others in need, every mile will be worthwhile.
Any donation, no matter the size, would mean a great deal to our team and will help The Kirkwood continue providing its vital services.
Thank you for your support.
