Twelve Knitted Days of Christmas · 1 December 2024

We provide specialist end-of-life care, and a wide range of support services, to over 1,200 people who are living with a life-limiting illness in the Wigan Borough. Many patients are cared for in their own homes, although we also care for people living in care homes and in our In-Patient Unit.

The Twelve Days of Knitted Christmas started life as a fundraiser for the Walled Kitchen Garden at Haigh Woodland Park, Wigan. However the Kitchen Garden is now being redeveloped by Wigan Council as part of Heritage Lottery Funding.

As a result The Friends of Haigh Walled Kitchen Garden have relocated to Mesnes Park Community Garden, Wigan.

This year the exhibition of the Twelve Days of Knitted Christmas is being displayed upstairs in The Mesnes Park Pavilion by kind permission of Fredericks Ice Cream and donations are being requested in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice.

The knitting was done by the Standish Knitting Group and other volunteers for which we are grateful.
