Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This may come as a shock to some people as I have never broadcast my Cancer diagnosis on social media. Last Summer I was diagnosed with Stage 3 renal cancer which had spread into the main vein going to my heart... I don't think it takes a genius to work out how bad that is. Luckily for me we have one of the best Urology departments in the country right on our door step and just 2 weeks later I was in ARI to have major surgery, a radical nephrectomy (kidney removed) and the aggressive tumour removed from the vein. To say I was totally blind sided by this was an understatement and adjusting to my new "normal" whilst also undergoing immunotherapy has been a challenge both physically and mentally. I really hope I can raise awareness and also get a little bit of me back by taking part in COTC. I don't know what I am letting myself in for but all I know is it’s time to raise a glass to LIVING, the people who are getting me through this and more importantly MYSELF!
Any donations towards my fundraising total in support of Friends of Anchor would be much appreciated. Every penny raised will go towards the charity’s mission to support cancer and haematology patients in the north of Scotland.
Never in my life would I have seen myself on the catwalk!
