Story
This June, I am taking part in the London to Brighton bike ride along with my Dad and Brother to help raise money for the amazing charity Narcolepsy UK.
Narcolepsy is a rare neurological condition that affects the brain’s ability to regulate the normal sleep-wake cycle. It can cause symptoms such as disturbed night-time sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness, and cataplexy. It is estimated to affect around 1 in 2,500 people.
As someone who has been navigating life with narcolepsy for the past eight years, I know just how important it is to have people around you who truly understand the challenges that come with the condition. Narcolepsy can affect almost every aspect of daily life, including employment, relationships, and own emotional health.
While there is currently no cure for narcolepsy, I am living proof that, with the right support, it is still possible to live a healthy and fulfilling life!
That is why I believe it is so important that this small charity receives the funding it deserves, so it can continue supporting people with narcolepsy and help ensure that we have the same opportunities as everyone else in society.
Thank you!
