Story
In November, I'm running a half marathon in London to raise money for People In Need Today (PINT), a charity that helps people experiencing homelessness across London. PINT is raising funds to buy a van, which would allow volunteers to transport more supplies and respond quickly to people living on the streets. So far, £25,000 of a £50,000 goal has been raised, and I'm hoping to help close that gap.
The charity operates seven days a week to distribute food, water and essential supplies to people, and operates soup kitchens and runs daily outreach, supporting around 700 individuals a week.
I regularly volunteer with PINT on Wednesdays, walking across London to hand out supplies, while also offering practical support, as well as being someone to talk to. It is noticeable that homelessness in London is at a critical high, with estimates of 1 out of 45 people now homeless in London - so this work is vital in supporting local communities.
