Story
Since I took I’ll in June 2017 (a scary time) my family has been on a challenging journey since June 2017, supported by the incredible organisation CHUF. I’ve undergone multiple operations, starting at age 7, and tests, and now faces the complexities of Wolf Parkinson White and Heart Block, requiring a pacemaker when I was just 11 years old. The support provided by CHUF has been invaluable and is felt by everyone who needs to attend Ward 23, from purchasing vital equipment to providing essential grab bags for unexpected hospital stays. The play specialists and playroom have offered me and others a much-needed escape from our medical realities. This year, I’m doing my own challenge as part of Team Mia Chops, running the Junior Great North Run, in September 25. I’m so excited to smash it and I’m currently in week 8 of training. Some of the adults in our Team Mia Chops (including my mum and dad) are taking on the Rat Race 100 Miles Coast to Coast Scotland Challenge - covering 21 miles on foot, 78 miles on bike, and 1 mile by kayak in just 2 days! We are grateful for any support as we aim to raise funds for CHUF's vital work.
