Team Whizz Kidz London Marathon 2025!

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
My name is Mia Placitelli,
That means, I will be running 26.2 miles across London. This is the most challenging, yet rewarding mission I have ever done. However, I am more than ready to take on the challenge. Especially as I will be training to raise money for a charity very close to my heart.
I am running for Whizz Kidz, a leading UK charity that supports young wheelchair users up to the age of 25. Their mission is to create opportunities for young wheelchair users to reach their full potential. Their vision is "a society where every young wheelchair user is mobile, enabled, and included''.
I have chosen to run for Whizz Kidz in honour of my older brother James, we share a special bond; he has a very special place in my heart and means the absolute world and more to me. James is 23 years old, has very complex needs, and relies on a wheelchair for his day to day life. Without his wheelchair equipment, James would not be able to experience his full potential, as he often struggles to walk. As a family we are very grateful to have this equipment for James, as we want to see him grow and strive!
However, there are many individuals who are sadly still in need of this equipment, who may not be able to afford it, or simply do not have access to a wheelchair that’s right for them.
As someone very close to James and familiar with his complex needs, I recognise just how important it really is for James to use his wheelchair in his day to day life. This drives my commitment to make a difference for others like James, to enhance their opportunities and day to day life experiences, because every child and young adult deserves to live their life to the fullest.
With your support, raising £1,900 for Whizz Kidz together, we will be helping other young individuals who also require a wheelchair. Enabling children and young adults like James to enjoy all opportunities and activities so many take for granted. If you would be so kind, please help me reach my goal by the 27th April 2025, any kind donations, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.
Help enable disabled children and young adults to lead fun, active and independent lives to reach their full potential today!
I would kindly like to introduce you to James, and would greatly appreciate anyone who takes the time to watch this video of us below.
