Mia’s fundraiser for Alzheimer's Research UK

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
Alzheimer’s is a cause deeply personal to me. From the age of 12, I witnessed my Nan’s dementia progress, learning to care for and entertain her as she slowly lost her memories. I am determined to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in 2025 in her honor, to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK. This disease robs families of their loved ones long before they physically pass away, and I want to contribute to finding a cure.
Alzheimer’s Research UK holds a special place in my heart, not only because of my Nan but also because our family has actively supported the charity in various ways, such as my Dad and sisters’ poetry book, with all proceeds donated to Alzheimer’s research and my Mum working for the charity since 2020. By participating in this half marathon, I aim to show my own appreciation for their efforts to prevent Alzheimer’s from taking our loved ones too soon.
“Every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.
We are the UK's leading dementia research charity. We exist for a cure.
Your donation helps our scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.
