Story
The MICDS Turkey Train is an annual MICDS tradition where our entire community gathers together to collect frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items to benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
The “train” is made up of Upper School students lining the walkways and passing turkeys, one-by-one, from the Upper School STEM Building to a garage in the MAC (McDonnell Athletic Center) on the Middle School campus, where the Foodbank truck awaits. Lower and Middle school students roll over barrels of donated Thanksgiving food items to the MAC to complement our turkey donation.
If you choose to make a monetary donation, it will go directly to the St. Louis Area Foodbank in the name of the MICDS Turkey Train to provide additional food items to families over the holidays.
The 2024 MICDS Turkey Train donation totaled 9,409 lbs of food and a monetary donation of $2,881.33. Our total donations provided 19,365 meals to those facing food insecurity in our area.
