Help Us Honour Michael Harrington's Memory and Support the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice!

Tough Mudder South West 2024 · 10 August 2024 ·
We are a small team of work colleagues, friends and family who are passionate about supporting the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. This incredible hospice provided compassionate end-of-life care to Michael Harrington.
Michael was a highly valued member of the EDF UK team, working as the Human Factor Group Leader in Gloucester. He was not just a colleague but also a loving husband to Madison and a devoted father to Jovie. Tragically, at the young age of 36, Michael bravely fought a two-year battle with cancer.
The hospice played a key role in Michael's final weeks, providing not just medical care but also comfort, dignity, and support to Michael and his loved ones.
We are a dedicated team of work colleagues, friends and family united by our ambition to raise money for such a great cause:
• Madison – wife of Michael
• Paula – close friend of Madison
• Emma – close friend of Madison
• Sameera – Engineering Transformation Programme Manager at EDF UK
• Mike – Human Factors Branch Manager at EDF UK
• Mel – Partner of Mike Wilson
• Scott – WANO Interface Manager at EDF UK
In honour of Michael's memory and the exceptional care he received at the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, we have decided to take on a significant challenge: the Tough Mudder obstacle course and mud run on Saturday 10 August 2024 in Badminton, South Gloucestershire. While we acknowledge that this course cannot compare to the challenges faced by those battling terminal illnesses, it symbolises our determination to push boundaries, face difficulties head-on, and support others in their time of need.
Our goal is twofold: to raise vital funds for the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice so they can continue their invaluable work, and to honour Michael's memory with something positive and impactful.
• Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need of hospice care. Your donation will directly support the hospice's efforts to provide compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients and their families.
• Share: Spread the word about our fundraising campaign on social media, through email, or by word of mouth. The more people who know about our cause, the closer we get to reaching our fundraising goal.
• Join Us: If you're feeling adventurous and want to challenge yourself while supporting a great cause, consider joining us in the Tough Mudder event to support the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice (contact Scott for details).
