Story
On September 13th, myself and my cousins (plus partners!) will be running the Great North Run to raise money for Marie Curie in memory of our Gran, who passed away in late 2022. Gran spent the last few weeks of her life in Marie Curie’s Newcastle hospice, where their fantastic staff and resources were able to provide comfort, support and a tremendous amount of kindness at a time of great sadness. We are so grateful for the outstanding care they were able to provide to our Gran, as well as our family, during this period and we now wish to return some of the generosity they showed us ourselves.
This has led us to take on the challenge of running the Great North Run - just the biggest half marathon in the world - to raise money for Marie Curie’s amazing mission! Even the smallest donations can make a difference and we would appreciate any support you can give!
Marie Curie is there for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, they are with you to the end. They bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care they give you at home, in their hospices and over the phone. They consistently push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system
We can’t wait to run this epic half marathon in the city our Gran loved, in her memory and to support a cause equally close to our hearts at the same time.
Thank you for your support!
