Story
Every day across the UK, children and young people lose someone significant to them. The death of someone important can be the most traumatic experience a child or young person will ever face.
Winston’s Wish relies on voluntary charitable donations to support children and their families following the death of a parent, sibling or important person. Since 1992, they have helped tens of thousands of bereaved children and young people and, with your help, can help tens of thousands more during the most difficult time of their lives.

Two years ago, my friend and fellow NCT group dad, Kel, sadly took his own life. He left behind a wife and a very young daughter, who my own wife and daughter still see regularly.
In his memory, I’m taking on a charity walk to raise vital funds for Winston’s Wish — a charity that has been supporting his family and continues to support grieving children across the UK.
This won’t be easy for me. Like many parents juggling a demanding job and a young child (3 years old), I’ve slipped into a mostly sedentary lifestyle. Taking on this challenge is a big step outside my comfort zone but one I’m determined to make.
