Our beautiful boy Blake was born 10 weeks early and had various early life health conditions. At 9 months we thought he finally come through his health issues and would progress like his peers. As Blake grew older we noticed differences. Physically unable to do what his peers can and mentally very intelligent but very different. After tests and observation was told to get him on the register for autism assessment and that muscle tone in legs and hands is very weak . Hes had physio , occupational health and I pass involved . Hes also on SEND register. He had blood tests amd examinations to see what was happening and why things are so different for him . It turns out he has 47xyy chromosome. Its not life threatening and in many cases not even life altering but our beautiful boy seems to have been hit hard with it . Hes a super hero and always finds a reason to smile . Hes my inspiration. Hes an inspirational brother, son , and human being . Unique is a charity that helps support families with children with rare chromosome disorders through understanding, information and linking with families with children with similar rare disorders . There are a lot more rare chromosome disorders . The more information out there the more children like blake can find their way to fit in a world that isn't built for children like him. . I am going to run the Yorkshire day half marathon on august 1st in leeds with all proceeds to Unique .
