Story
After 18 years serving as an RAF fast jet pilot — including five unforgettable years with the Red Arrows aerobatic display team — life changed dramatically when I was diagnosed with bowel cancer, and then stage 4 liver cancer just a year later.
Now, in not many days time, I’m taking on one of my toughest missions yet: playing 72 holes of golf in a single day at the Celtic Manor Resort to raise funds for Military vs Cancer, a relatively new and vital charity supporting those who’ve faced both battles — serving their country and fighting cancer. Like me.
Just a month ago, I could barely walk half a mile. Now, I’m aiming to walk and play golf from sunrise to sunset. This isn’t just a round of golf — it’s a full-day test of strength, endurance, and recovery.
This challenge is personal. It’s about giving back to a community I’ve proudly served in and now share another deeply personal connection with.
Every donation, big or small, means the world — not just to me, but to the many veterans and families this charity supports. If you can, please give generously and help turn this challenge into something truly meaningful.
About Military vs Cancer:
We’re an ambitious charity, with a vision to transform the standard of cancer support provided to military personnel and their families. However, we cannot do this alone. We need the support and investment of people like you to ensure seamless support that makes a genuine difference. The good news is, there’s a lot in it for you too – because giving our all means building successful partnerships too.
