Michael Cropper is raising money for The King's Trust

Team: 1CS Abseil fundraising for The King's Trust

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

I'm abseiling 10 floors down the atrium at the HSBC Birmingham HQ to raise funds for the King's Trust. Please help me reach my goal of raising £50 per floor!

I'm scared of heights so if any colleagues fancy some entertainment, please feel free to come and watch at 2pm on 22OCT!

Some more information about the challenge and the King's Trust:

As part of The King’s Trust Million Makers Challenge, we, Team Bank On Us, have been tasked with raising £10,000 over a six month fundraising period

To work towards achieving this target, we are currently organising an indoor charity abseil in our head office in Birmingham, where colleagues will descend over 180 feet to raise funds for this amazing cause.

The King's Trust believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed, no matter what their background or the challenges they are facing. The Prince's Trust (now The King's Trust) NatWest Youth Index 2024 revealed that over a third (39%) of young people no longer feel in control of their future, with over a quarter (26%) feeling as though they are going to fail in life.

The courses offered by The Trust help young people aged 11-30 to develop essential life skills, get ready for work, access job opportunities and create a brighter future for themselves.

- £20 could provide a young person with an inspiring two hours of work experience in a stable job in a thriving sector.

- £50 could help The King's Trust provide a young person managing a struggling new business with expert mentoring.

-£100 could leave a lasting legacy. This donation could contribute towards the specialist equipment that opens up a lifelong career for 1 young person on the margins of society.

Please help us to support The King's Trust by donating and sharing our page.
