Channel Swim 2026 - Mike Dunne

Michael Dunne is raising money for Aspire

Channel Swim Relay - 2026 · 11 August 2026

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Did you know that every two hours someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury?

I’m raising money for Aspire UK, an amazing charity that supports people living with spinal cord injuries to rebuild their lives and live as independently as possible.

In August 2026, I’ll be taking on a huge challenge with some friends — a relay swim across the English Channel, without a wetsuit. The Channel is around 21 miles at its narrowest, with strong tides, cold water (often 14–18°C), and very real risks like jellyfish stings along the way.

Any donation, big or small, will make a real difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean a lot too.

Thanks so much for your support,

Mike
