Story
The Mental Health Foundation is the UK’s charity for everyone’s mental health.
I have suffered my own mental health episodes and have found that running has been my release. I suffered a massive anxiety attack at work, where I thought that I was on the verge of a heart attack. Stress got the better of me and I became obsessed with wanting to please everyone. I couldn't switch off from daily life and got to the stage where I thought I needed to be the one that everyone relied on. I have learnt through hard work and determination that no matter how dark things become, you have to prove to yourself that you are capable of more than you think. Running the Edinburgh marathon, I will be conquering my own demons and showing that through the hardest times it is possible to shine through and become the beacon that helps others through their time of despair.
