Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Today we had nearly 300 guests for the cricket match which raised money in aid of the Great Witchingham Junior Cricket Team and also for SWV for which we are extremely grateful.
I spoke about the charity before the auction and was also joined by my friend and fellow Veteran , Krishna Thapa who served in the Gurkhas and then spent over twenty years with the Special Air Sevice.
We had a very moving talk between us and a standing ovation at the end .

On the 7th July we had the Charity Clay Shoot kindly hosted by Paul Roger’s at Lenwade and on Friday 10th July we have the charity Cricket Match .
I have reopened this page as I wish to raise enough money to buy the soldiers who are amputees or have other medical problems a Sit Ski for the next trip we do with 22 wounded veterans skiing in Switzerland in March 2028.
The sit skis are works of technology and hence cost approximately £7800 each.

I previously completed a solo bicycle ride from the beaches of Dunkirk to Klosters in Switzerland.
Although I had terrible weather conditions and a distance of approximately 1100 Kilometres as well as climbs totalling 4500 metres I completed this task in under a week covering up to 200 kilometres a day.
I had the support of a vehicle driven by the wonderful Martin Wade ,a former senior
British Army officer who served in Kosovo ,Bosnia, and Afghanistan as Commander Legal of British Forces Germany, and dedicated Royal Marines Legal Adviser.
He was medically discharged from the Army in 2015 following diagnosis of Complex PTSD and dissociative disorder after his return from Afghanistan. After his discharge he attended the Veterans’ Ski Week in Klosters with SWV. Since 2015 he has maintained strong links to the charity working hard with his mentor and has engaged in many of the programs offered.
The charity has helped him enormously,particularly during several lengthy admissions to the Bethlem Royal Hospital. Martin is now a nationally exhibiting artist. His abstract works explore emotions, adversity and a survivor's instinct to recover against all the odds.

On arrival I was joinied by the rest of the team of Supporting Wounded Veterans to embark on our annual week of looking after approximately 20 soldiers all of whom had their own mountains to climb but having done this for the last five years I know what a rewarding week it is for them and what an incredible charity SWV is.

Moving words from a past Veteran of The Ski Week.
This year I was intending to hitchhike to Klosters again from Dunkirk beach to Klosters but sadly my Mother passed away recently and this sad event took over from any other plans with all the organization of a wonderful Memorial Service to celebrate her life and all the other matters to deal with.
so no silly travel plans just a straight flight to Switzerland this year but because I feel o strongly about the Charity and how =much help these soldiers need our help I am reposting my Just Giving page to raise more money for them.
I have raised a considerable amount of money from the shoot this year by way of fines and donations so this will get the ball rolling.
Last time we got up to about £37,000 and so I would like to increase to considerably more. Yes, I know its a long timee until the next ski trip for the veterans but donating is only a finger click away even if its a small amount it all adds up !
I will do something more adventurous at some stage but its all about them not me.
