Leith Distillery Abseil 2026 · 10 May 2026 ·

Dads Rock aims to improve the lives of vulnerable children. We organise activities for parents to help them to look after and engage with their children in a fun and positive way. Our services are for the whole family with a focus on supporting dads who often feel excluded from parenting services.

Story

Hi, I am taking part in the Leith Distillery Abseil 2026 on 10 May 2026, a thrilling sporting event where I will be abseiling down a 131ft building in Edinburgh alongside a few other dads. This challenge is my way of giving back to Dads Rock, a charity that has been incredibly close to my heart and life-changing for my family.

I first found Dads Rock when my eldest was just five weeks old, and since then, it has been nothing short of a lifeline. The group provided me with a safe, non-judgmental space where I could ask questions and receive the support needed to become the best dad possible. Now with our newest addition just over a week old, the advice and community support have been invaluable in helping me balance life with two little ones.

Dads Rock is more than just support; it’s about building friendships and creating a village that nurtures families. They help fathers who may be struggling with isolation, mental health challenges, or confidence issues. Their belief that "children thrive when dads thrive" resonates deeply with me because supporting dads means supporting children’s futures.

The funds raised from this abseil will directly benefit Dads Rock’s vital work: supporting dads and families, creating positive experiences for fathers and their children, building strong support networks, and being there when families need it most. Since 2012, this small Scottish charity has offered free and low-cost programs including playgroups, parenting workshops, one-on-one support for vulnerable young dads, online resources, all focused on positive mental health.

I am aiming to raise £200 to help continue this essential work. Any donation—big or small—will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate at this time, sharing this page would also be greatly appreciated.

The support from Dads Rock has enriched our lives beyond measure; it has given us memories and friendships that will last forever. This abseil is my humble way of giving back to an organization that has given so much to us. Please join me in supporting Dads Rock so they can keep making an impact for many more families like mine.
