Michael's fundraiser for The Limbless Association

Michael Keogh is raising money for The Limbless Association
“10 Years since becoming an amputee”

on 2 October 2026

We understand that navigating the complexities of limb loss and limb difference can be completely overwhelming. We provide excellent, FREE, accessible information and advice to empower all amputees and those with limb difference, and families and friends, to lead independent and fulfilled lives.

Story

Ten years ago, life changed in an instant when a suspected drunk driver collided with a motorcycle I was riding with a group of friends in the USA. I lost my lower left leg and, after being flown back to the UK, I began a journey I never expected to face.

In those early days, I often felt overwhelmed by the questions, the uncertainty, and the many changes that came with limb loss. Then I found The Limbless Association, and everything began to feel more manageable. Their support helped me understand my limb loss in a way I could not have done alone, and their network of support for amputees has been outstanding.

The Limbless Association is a national charity supporting lives beyond limb loss. Since 1983, they have been helping amputees, family members, friends, and professionals access trusted information, advice, and support. Through their Volunteer Visitor Network, events, resources, and helpdesk, they continue to make sure no amputee need cope alone.

I am fundraising for The Limbless Association because their work truly changes lives. Their support offers hope, understanding, and connection to people facing some of their most difficult moments. This cause matters because no one should have to navigate limb loss without guidance and encouragement.

In order to mark this occasion, I shall be walking over the O2 this October.

Please support my fundraiser for The Limbless Association and help ensure that more people can receive the support they need on their journey beyond limb loss. Together, we can make a real difference.
